Introduction
Recognizing the importance of spreading knowledge among the community, especially in Petaling Jaya, MBPJ in collaboration with PKNS has established a library in Kota Damansara. Known as the Kota Damansara Branch Community Library, it provides various facilities to foster reading interest and IT literacy among local residents. The establishment of this library also demonstrates MBPJ's commitment to intellectual development in line with the current physical growth of Petaling Jaya.
Objectives
- To provide library services and comfortable spaces for residents of Kota Damansara.
- To increase the reading interest among children, teenagers, and homemakers.
- To raise awareness of the importance of knowledge and cultivate a reading culture.
Collection
The library uses the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) system, while fiction and children’s books are arranged alphabetically by author. Collections include children’s books, fiction, exam books, daily newspapers, magazines, and reference books.
Cyber Room
The library provides 10 computer units. Members wishing to use this facility are required to pay RM1.50/hour.
Membership Fees
Membership fee is RM11.00 per person. Each member is required to pay an annual fee of RM5.00 to renew their membership every year.

Introduction
Recognizing the need for the dissemination of knowledge among society, especially in Petaling Jaya, Petaling Jaya Municipal Council (MBPJ) has established a library in the Taman Medan area. This library, known as the Taman Medan Community Library Branch (PJS 4/27A), provides various facilities to encourage reading habits among the local community, particularly residents of Taman Medan. The establishment of this library reflects MBPJ’s commitment to knowledge development in line with the physical growth of Petaling Jaya today.Objectives
- To provide library services, facilities and a comfortable space for the community living in Taman Medan.
- To encourage reading habits among children, teenagers and housewives.
- To expose the Taman Medan community to the importance of knowledge and indirectly cultivate a culture of reading while improving the intellectual level of Malaysians.
Library Management System
This library uses a computerized library management system known as WILMU (Web Integrated Library Management System). WILMU provides an Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) for users to search library materials. The WILMU system at Taman Medan Branch is directly connected with the system at Perpustakaan Komuniti Petaling Jaya. Members may use their library membership card to borrow and return books at either branch.Collection Of Materials
