Book Reservation
The book can be reserved is currently under loan by another member If the book is in the library, the member has to locate it himself / herself The library management gives no guarantee that the book reserved will be available on the date that it Is reserved All books reserved will be held for one week until made available for other members.

Bayan Bestari Library Service
For members aged three months to seven years this area consists of children’s books, activity spaces and a play area with safe and attractive features. Children must be accompanied by parents at all times. The fee is RM5 per session.
PJ Library on Wheels (Mobile Library)
Schools can request for this service either for fix schedule or for special program based on the schedule agreed by the school and management. The materials in the Mobile Library cater to children between seven to 12-years old.
Screening Hall and Viewing room
Members can utilize a hall and a comfortable viewing room located on the 3rd floor. There are variety of local and international movies available on schedule. These can be viewed at the dedicated carrel corners. For group viewing, members can pre-book the screening hall.
Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC)
An in-house computer library management system (ILMU) was introduced in 1993 to provide an online catalogue for members to search for materials in the library. The library also has a Web OPAC system for those who prefer online access to the library’s collection.
The Cyber Centre
The library has 15 units of computer for training purposes located at the 1st floor
House of Books
To instill greater reading habits among residents, the library has formed a House of Books – one is located at the Taman Ilmu in the library premises and the other is in Taman Aman. Both the House of Books are in open spaces and can be accessed for free by the public. The books here are free and can be taken home by the public.
Taman Jaya Knowledge Kiosks
Visitors to Taman Jaya have access to three kiosks with a comfortable reading space. There is a big choice of books which can be read on the spot or taken home for free. The operational hours for this service are from 8 am to 6.30 pm. Members of the public can also contribute suitable reading materials for the community to enjoy.
Bayan Budiman Library
This children’s storybook collection is specially designed for readers aged 12 and below. The books contain a variety of engaging, colorful stories that are easy to understand, helping to foster a love for reading, stimulate imagination, and convey moral values to children.
Bayan Bestari Library
This children’s storybook collection is specially designed for readers aged 7 and below. The books feature short, interesting, and illustrated stories that help children become familiar with the world of reading, stimulate imagination, and develop a love for reading from an early age. In addition, there are play tools and interactive rooms for children to create a fun learning environment, stimulate creativity, and support cognitive and social development.
Mobile Library
The MBPJ Mobile Library, also known as PJ Library On Wheels, is one of the services offered by the Petaling Jaya Community Library. This facility was introduced in line with UNESCO’s recognition of Petaling Jaya as a Learning City in 2019.
PJ Library On Wheels operates at Taman Tasik Bandaran Kelana Jaya, Petaling Jaya, every Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. This service is available to all visitors of Taman Tasik Bandaran Kelana Jaya, ensuring that everyone can enjoy recreational activities while reading books and participating in activities organized by the library staff. Activities for visitors include coloring, chess, congkak, checkers, puzzles, and more. Besides recreation, visitors can also relax and unwind at PJ Library On Wheels.
PJ Library On Wheels also provides services to primary and secondary schools, government and private agencies, mosques, and events organized by various councils. Schools or external agencies that wish to request this mobile library service can contact the Chief Librarian of the Petaling Jaya Community Library, Mr. Zainal Abidin Bin Rahim, via email at zainal@mbpj.gov.my.
Book On Wheels Booking
Book On Wheels (BOW) is an online book reservation service.
Library users can search for books they wish to borrow via the library’s OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog).
Only books marked as available in the OPAC can be borrowed.
Reservations can be made through the provided Google Form link or QR code.
Library staff will call the user once the requested books are ready, and the user can come directly to the library to borrow them.
This service makes borrowing easier and saves users time by avoiding the need to search for books themselves in the library.
